Learn GE Flipping
Margins, volume, buy limits—the basics. Use the Items page to explore live data. Click any item for price history charts (24h to 1 year).
What is flipping?
Buy low, sell high. You place a buy offer below the current sell price, wait for it to fill, then sell above the current buy price. The gap between what you pay and what you get—minus a small GE tax—is your profit.
What you need to know
% Margin
Your profit per item. A 1,000 gp margin on something that costs 10K to buy is 10%—solid. Bigger margins are nice, but they often fill slower.
↻ Volume
How many trade per day. High volume = fast fills. Low volume = your offer might sit for a while. We pull volume estimates from the Wiki.
4h Buy limit
Each item caps how many you can buy in 4 hours. Some items let you grab 70K; others only a handful. Plan around it.
2% GE tax
The GE takes 2% when you sell. Sell 1M, pay 20K tax. Cap is 5M per trade, so big flips aren't hit as hard.
8 slots, use them well
You get 8 active offers at once. Most people use 1–4 for buys and 5–8 for sells. The plugin shows each slot with item, state, and progress.
Strategy presets
Grand Flip Out offers 10 built-in strategies. Pick one that matches your style:
On the Items page use the strategy pills (High margin, High vol, Budget, F2P, etc.) or sort by margin %, volume, or margin×volume.
GP per hour
Profit per flip × how many flips you do per hour. Fast items with okay margins can beat slow, high-margin ones. The plugin shows a market snapshot—you pick what to flip.
Watch out for
- ✗Chasing dumps — Margin collapse can be sudden. If you buy after a dump, you may sell at a loss.
- ✗Ignoring volume — High margin + low volume = your offer might sit for days.
- ✗Overfilling slots — Use 8 slots wisely. Mix buys and sells; don't lock all 8 on one item.
- ✗Forgetting tax — Always subtract 2% from sell value.
